Shop Newport History
These one-of-a-kind cufflinks are assembled with vintage typeset and inspired by the aesthetic of historic typesetting. Each pair is handmade by Nicole Monforti, who runs a one-woman letterpress shop situated in a 100-year-old former textile mill in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
Cufflinks are photographed in front of the Franklin Press in the Museum of Newport History at the Brick Market in Newport, Rhode Island. The press belonged to James Franklin, the older brother of Benjamin Franklin and the founder of the Newport Mercury. The press was operated until 1851, and has been on display in the Museum of Newport History and Shop since 1993.
