Woodcut Memory Game

This memory matching game includes 26 pairs of distinctive woodcut prints from artist Bryan Nash Gill in a keepsake box.

Dendrochronology refers to the science of dating wood samples in order for scientists to count and compare the tree rings present in wood samples This aids in determining the year when the tree was cut down. Dendrochronology can be particularly useful in uncovering estimated dates of construction for historic wooden buildings. The Newport Historical Society has used this method on its own properties, testing wood samples from the Wanton-Lyman-Hazard House in 2003 to help ascertain that the building was constructed circa 1696.
