School Girl Sampler Puzzle
20 piece puzzle of an image of an embroidery sampler made by Anne Baker in 1754. Puzzle will measure 8 1/4" inches by 11 3/4" inches when completed and is packaged in a tin case.
School girl samplers represent attitudes towards female education that traveled from England with the colonists, which valued a girls ability to sew, read, and write. Through the creation of an embroidery sampler, girls practiced various stitches while learning their alphabet and numbers.
